    Selfish: devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one’s own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others.

    Unlike Capitalist greed and selfishness, the people who make microloans to the communities in South America and India are acting in enlightened self interest. Up into the 1980′s the majority of the U.S. economy operated within the principles of enlightened self interest.
